More than 100 martyrs and nearly 1,000 injured in a horrific massacre committed yesterday, Thursday, by the Israeli occupation army against unarmed citizens waiting for food aid in northern Gaza.
The “Flour Massacre” is yet another bloody chapter in the ongoing ethnic cleansing carried out by the occupying army against the steadfast Palestinian people, including women, children, and the elderly, who continue to hold onto their land and their right to life. This is happening amidst unprecedented international complicity and Arab weakness.
The Arab Council considers that silence in the face of these premeditated massacres, aimed at terrorizing civilians and violating international law, is tantamount to complicity in brutal crimes against humanity that demand condemnation and accountability.
The Council places full responsibility for the starvation of hundreds of thousands of Palestinian women and children on the Egyptian government, which has imposed a total blockade on Gaza, preventing the entry of supplies and medicines. Meanwhile, it rushes to aid the Israelis, providing them with food, industrial supplies, and other assistance in coordination with the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and Jordan, which have begun operating a land bridge to ease the isolation of the occupying state.
Isn’t it time for the Arab peoples to take action to end the unjust blockade on Gaza and stop the direct and indirect participation of Arab regimes in the destruction and displacement plans targeting our people in Gaza?
Isn’t it time for the human conscience to awaken and rise to save the Palestinian people from unprecedented acts of genocide in human history?
The Arab Council
President Moncef Marzouki
