The Arab Council expresses its solidarity with the sisterly State of Qatar in the face of the malicious smear and doubt campaigns it has been subjected to for years, which have escalated recently with the approaching start of the FIFA World Cup.

This malicious campaign is being led by both Arab and Western parties in response to Qatar’s positions supporting liberation movements in the Arab world and advocating for the rights of the Palestinian people.

The Arab Council calls on the Qatari leadership to continue playing its role in politically and media-wise supporting Arab peoples struggling for liberation and sovereignty. It also encourages Qatar to continue its internal reforms, regardless of the smear campaigns, which will inevitably falter and fade as they are based on falsehoods and malicious rumors.
