The Arab Council extends its warmest congratulations to all the components of the steadfast Palestinian people in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, the cities within Israel, and in various refugee camps and diaspora, as well as to the Arab and Islamic nations and all free consciences around the world, on the occasion of the glorious victory achieved by the resistance factions over the heavily armed occupation forces.
The Arab Council considers this great victory a turning point for the Palestinian cause, marking the beginning of a new phase, one of reuniting the Palestinian ranks around shared principles, the duty to liberate the holy city of Jerusalem, and confronting any settlement policies or provocative actions across all of Palestine.
The Arab Council calls on all Arabs and Muslims, both people and governments, to contribute to the reconstruction of Gaza, to exert pressure to lift the siege on it permanently, to prevent any violations of Palestinian sanctities and rights, and to support Palestinian unity and the establishment of a unified Palestinian state.
The Council affirms that this pivotal moment will have major implications for the liberation of the will of the Arab peoples, for breaking the culture of defeat that has long plagued them, and for enhancing the hope for change, reform, and liberation that has been solidified by the Arab revolutions.
Glory to the resistance, eternal honor to the heroic martyrs, and victory to the Palestinian cause. May every victory bring wellbeing to the nation.
And the night shall surely pass.
On behalf of the Arab Council
President Mohamed Moncef Marzouki
