The Arab Council expresses its full solidarity with the movement of the Egyptian people, who have risen once again with boldness and defiance against the dictator Sisi, the killer of his people, raising slogans calling for freedom, social justice, and dignified living, and condemning the oppression, tyranny, and systematic violations of Egyptians’ right to life, dignity, housing, and worship.
The Arab Council considers that this powerful uprising, which chants “We don’t want you,” “Leave,” and “Down with military rule” in various streets and squares, signals the imminent end of the criminal authoritarian regime and the approaching victory of the will of the great Egyptian people, paving the way for the revival of the January revolution’s path after the coup on democracy.
The Arab Council calls upon all national political and social forces, as well as all intellectuals and elites in Egypt, both inside the country and abroad, to unite and support this uprising, seizing this historic moment to achieve the people’s will, which aspires to remove the tyrant, end the oppression, restore sovereignty, achieve dignity, and return the military institution to its rightful role in serving and protecting the people.
The Arab Council also calls upon all free forces of the Arab nation and all supporters of freedom and democracy worldwide to support the Egyptian people’s movement and stand in solidarity with them in all forms of human solidarity until the Egyptian people’s liberation is achieved.
Rise, Egypt, and strengthen your resolve.
On behalf of the Arab Council,
Dr. Mohamed Moncef Marzouki
