Statement: The Displacement of Gaza’s Residents is Rejected
And We Stand with Our Brothers in Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan
The Arab Council strongly rejects any plan aimed at displacing the residents of Gaza and supports the position of our brothers in Palestine, Egypt, and Jordan, who oppose these projects, which constitute a war crime under international law.
The statements made by former U.S. President Donald Trump regarding the potential for forced displacement, while disregarding the firm stance of Arab nations, reflect a disregard for Palestinian rights. They represent an attempt to achieve what the occupying entity has failed to do through force and aggression, aiming to impose a reality that serves the Zionist project at the expense of history and geography. Moreover, targeting UNRWA is part of a broader scheme to liquidate the Palestinian refugee issue and erase their right of return.
The Arab Council calls on Arab and Islamic countries, as well as the international community, to confront these plans and reaffirm the Palestinian people’s right to self-determination and their return to their land, in accordance with international legitimacy. The Council also warns against treating Arabs as mere pawns in a geopolitical game, for the Arab people possess an unbreakable will and a dignity that cannot be compromised.
The Arab Council believes that the return of hundreds of thousands of Gazans to their destroyed homes and their steadfastness in their right to live on their land sends the clearest message and strongest response to Trump’s rejected proposals and those who cheer for them among the Israeli far-right.
