The Arab Council strongly condemns the terrorist crime committed by Israel against thousands of Lebanese civilians through repeated attacks on civilians starting from September 17, 2024, until today. This horrific crime, which resulted in the deaths and injuries of nearly three thousand people, including women and children, is one of the most barbaric cyber crimes, falling under the category of war crimes. These terrorist operations endanger the lives of civilians and grossly violate the laws of war and international legitimacy.
The Council considers the recent Israeli attacks targeting civilians and infrastructure, whether through airstrikes or cyberattacks, to be a real threat to the safety and stability of the region. Such operations, which intentionally harm civilians without any military justification, clearly violate international humanitarian law, especially the principle of distinction between military targets and civilians. Furthermore, the excessive and disproportionate use of force has led to a large number of casualties without significant military impact.
The Arab Council strongly condemns these grave violations and affirms the need for the international community to hold those responsible for these crimes accountable. While pointing to the significant risks posed by cyberattacks, the Council calls on the United Nations to urgently investigate these crimes and take action to protect civilians in accordance with international law.
The Arab Council will submit an official complaint to the United Nations to condemn these flagrant violations and demand an immediate and transparent investigation to ensure the protection of civilians from any future acts of aggression.
