The Arab Council extends its deepest condolences and sympathy to brother Ismail Haniyeh, Head of the Political Bureau of Hamas, and to the entire resilient Palestinian people, following the criminal Israeli aggression that claimed the lives of six of his children and grandchildren.
The Council considers this cowardly targeting of innocent civilians, including children, as a clear act of revenge against the Palestinian leader. It reflects the severe failure of the Israeli occupation forces and their confusion and frustration in the face of the steadfastness of the Palestinian people and their unwavering commitment to their land and rights.
This treacherous retaliatory behavior also demonstrates the Israeli side’s lack of seriousness in the negotiation process, and its complete disregard for the rulings of the International Court of Justice and the repeated calls from the international community for a ceasefire.
In the face of continued massacres and retaliatory crimes against defenseless civilians from Palestinian leadership families and the people of Gaza, and amidst discussions of a large-scale attack on Rafah that could result in an unprecedented massacre, the Arab Council calls on all Arab peoples and supporters of freedom and peace around the world to mobilize and join massive demonstrations to pressure the countries supporting Israeli war criminals to halt the killing machine, whose continuation has become a stain on humanity.
The night will surely pass.
Arab Council
