Following the treacherous assassination carried out by Israeli occupation forces against a group of Palestinian leaders, including the martyr Saleh Al-Arouri, in the southern suburbs of Beirut yesterday evening, the Arab Council expresses its strong condemnation of this criminal and cowardly act. This attack further confirms that Israel is a rogue entity operating outside international legitimacy, continuing its crimes without any regard for international law, in the face of international complicity and Arab silence.

While the Arab Council extends its heartfelt condolences to the families of the martyrs, to the Palestinian resistance, and to the Palestinian people, it considers that Israel’s targeting of resistance leaders abroad is a clear indication of its utter failure to achieve the objectives of its criminal war against Gaza. This failure is evidenced by Israel’s inability to break the resolve of the Palestinian people, despite killing and injuring tens of thousands, displacing hundreds of thousands, and destroying most of Gaza.

The Arab Council calls on civil forces and international organizations advocating for justice and rights to intensify efforts to defend the Palestinian people’s right to peace and life. It also calls for the mobilization of efforts to prosecute all those involved in war crimes against Palestinians in Gaza, the West Bank, Jerusalem, and beyond before the International Criminal Court, holding them accountable for their heinous crimes.
