The Arab Council expresses its relief at the agreement reached for the implementation of a humanitarian ceasefire in the Gaza Strip, halting the unjust Israeli aggression for several days. This ceasefire includes the exchange of a group of prisoners, the reception of sufficient supplies of water, food, medicine, and fuel, and safe movement for residents between various neighborhoods of the strip.

The Council extends its gratitude to all those who contributed to securing this ceasefire, particularly the State of Qatar, which facilitated the negotiations with flexibility and principled leadership.

The Council calls on Arab, Islamic, and other peace-loving nations to exert pressure by all available means on the occupying power and its supporting states to prevent the resumption of the massacre once the four-day period concludes. The aim is to transform this temporary ceasefire into a permanent one, with continued prisoner exchanges, a return to normal life in Gaza, an Israeli military withdrawal, and a return to serious political negotiations involving all regional and international parties to achieve a political solution and end the perpetual war.

The Arab Council emphasizes the need to document all the crimes committed by the Israeli military against the people of Gaza in order to preserve the truth and ensure accountability.
